Do you need to improve staff recruitment?

Difficulty in recruiting can be debilitating with far reaching consequences for teams and productivity. The absence can only not prevent the specific tasks of that role being done but have a broader adverse and demoralising impact on teams. Even employers with a positive high profile and market leaders in their field can suffer from low or efficient recruitment levels.

If you are struggling to recruit staff with the right skills and experience, it can help to ask the following four questions?

  1. Is job vacancy outreach working hard enough and being more broadly supported?
  2. Are the job requirements clear and exclude unnecessary selection criteria?
  3. Are the recruiters relevant?
  4. Is the overall package clear and attractive?

Often businesses will focus on the latter only as a short term fix, leading to overpaying and recruiting staff who may struggle to meet expectations. The solutions are also mistakenly considered to be only relevant for ‘big business’ and unaffordable.

We work with management teams to provide them with the insights and capabilities to deliver change in a multidisciplinary way supporting leadership, people, finance, legal and IT considerations. We can roll our sleeves up although most of the work is based on embedding a framework for improvement and ‘skills transferal’, giving your team the ability to make cost effective and long lasting improvements. Our experience is based on supporting mergers, restructuring, cost reduction and re-energisation programmes across the middle market as well as international businesses.
